Rules Change in regards to the legality of Baseball Bats continues to be monitored by NIAA

The NFHS has been studying the "bat issues" taking place around the country and issued the following statement in regards to composite bats being used at the high school level in the future. Since this release, there has been continual updates in regards to what bats are legal and what are not legal for high school play this season. Click Here to view press release

The NIAA has received many inquiries in regards to bats - most asking which bats are going to be ruled as legal (allowed) and what bats will be declared as illegal for the upcoming 2010-2011 season.

Chris Healy, NIAA Baseball Rules Interpreter, issued a memo back in January 2011 that outlines current and upcoming changes in regards to bat rules for high school baseball.

The following link (see below) provides a more in-depth look at the changes to take place for this year and for next. This information should be reviewed by all school athletic administrators, baseball coaches, umpires and even players and parents so everyone is aware of the new NFHS / NIAA baseball bat rules.
